What data we use, and why
TrainState accesses your Garmin Connect data only with your explicit authorisation. We use the minimum data required to provide coaching insights — nothing more.

Primary recovery and readiness indicators. HRV is the most reliable daily metric for assessing training adaptation.
Sleep data
Sleep duration and quality score from your Garmin device. Sleep is the single biggest lever for athletic recovery.
Training load (ATL/CTL)
Acute and chronic training stress from your activity history. Used to calculate fitness, fatigue, and form.
Body battery
Garmin's composite energy readiness metric. Used as a cross-check alongside HRV and sleep data.
Activity history
